Artie Lange Arrested Due To Violate Drug Court Program – Stand-up comedian and former radio co-host star of HBO’s Crashing Artie Lange, 51, was arrested “without incident” at a halfway house in Clinton, New Jersey, at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday.

“He was arrested for not being in compliance with the terms and conditions of the drug court program,” Artie Lange was arrested in a halfway house, in Clinton, New Jersey, at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday.
Artie Lange’s time in the drug court system dates back to a May 2017 traffic stop on the Garden State Parkway. Lange was originally charged and placed on probation, but violated probation by using drugs. On May 12 when he was caught at high speed with a bag of heroin on his lap. On December 15, Lange pleaded guilty to possessing 81 bags of heroin in exchange for the earlier charge of possession of cocaine being dropped.
A law enforcement source said, “He was coherent and cooperative. Very routine. He looks a hell of a lot better than he did three months ago.”
A judge ordered Lange to jail, but he applied and was accepted into drug court, which landed him in a residential treatment program.
On June 1, 2018, Lange was sentenced to four years of probation with orders to complete 50 hours of community service and complete further outpatient rehabilitation. On December 14, 2018, Lange tested positive for cocaine, and a variety of other drugs in a court-mandated test. However, Lange was able to evade jail time following the December trial.

A video of Artie Lange circulated on Twitter showing Lange employed at a gas station as part of his rehabilitation program. In the video, Lange began he only had 10 days left in the program and promised fans could see him on stage again fast. Lange also began his affection for his former co-host, Howard Stern. In May 2019, Lange posted a tweet which revealed he had moved on to work at a gas station.
Artie Lange has struggled with substance abuse through his life. He’s been vocal about his addiction. In December, he tweeted, “I’m a bad addict,” Lange tweeted. “I had to see if I could get high. It was awful.”
