Gambino crime family 53 years old member Frank Cali was shot six times in the chest. According to the police said they received a report about the shooting outside 25 Hilltop Terrace in the Todt Hill section of Staten Island around 9:20 p.m. There was also a report of a blue pickup truck leaving the scene around the time of operation. A 58-year-old neighbor whose first name, Salvatore, said that he heard a burst of about seven gunshots shortly after 9 p.m.Cali’s wife and children were home at the time of the shooting.
Frank Cali was announced dead at Staten Island University Hospital. The official said, “Upon arrival, officers found a 53-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, EMS also responded to the scene and transported the victim to Staten Island University North, where he was pronounced deceased.”
Francesco Paolo Augusto Calì known as “Frank Cali” or “Franky Boy”, was the leader of the Gambino crime family. According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Lipton “Cali is seen as a man of influence and power by organized crime members in Italy”. Frank Cali was born on March 26, 1965 in New York City to Augusto and Agata Cesare, both natives of Palermo, Sicily.
