I-75 Bridge Collapsed In Chattanooga Tennessee – Interstate 75 North to I-24 West lanes are collapsed due to falling of concrete railing of the bridge onto the roadway in Chattanooga Tennessee.

A car going on the I-75/I-24 merger was hit by the falling railing. According to the Chattanooga Fire Department, the driver of that car has non-life-threatening injuries. Live cameras show the former car that was heavily damaged.
“A frightening bridge collapse at one of the most heavily trafficked intersections in the country, where 75 and 24 meet,” Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke tweeted. “Truly miraculous that no one was seriously injured. [TDOT] is one [sic] the scene assessing cause and traffic solutions.”
Chattanooga Police Department tweeted, “I-75 N closed at I-24 W split due to railing falling from bridge onto roadway. Area expected to be closed to traffic for an extended time. #CHAtraffic”
According to TDOT, the earliest estimated clear time is around 4 p.m. Monday.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s website said the incident as a crash, and northbound and southbound traffic were both is closed near the split, as of noon. I-75 bridge was last inspected in July 2016.
