Iran Fires 15 Ballistic Missiles At U.S. Forces In Iraq | Iran Attacks At American Military Forces Bases In Iraq:
Iran retaliated by firing 15 Ballistic Missiles at two military bases in Iraq where American troops are stationed, after President Donald Trump ordered an airstrike that killed a top Iranian general, Qasem Soleimani, in Baghdad Airport, last week.
Iran’s Ballistic Missiles:
According to a U.S. military spokesman for Central Command, responsible for American forces in the Middle East, 10 missiles hit Al-Assad Air Base, 1 missile hit a military base in Erbil and four missiles failed to hit their targets.
There is no doubt about the source of the Ballistic Missiles, which were launched from Iran and targeted at least two Iraqi military bases hosting U.S. military and coalition personnel and also Iranian government quickly claimed responsibility.
Casualties And Damage Caused By Iran’s Attack | Why Did Iran Retaliate:
It was unclear whether there was casualties or damage to Ain al-Asad air base.
President Donald J. Trump tweeted, “All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning.”
Why Did Iran retaliate:
The Iranian attack early Wednesday local time, confirmed by the Department of Defense, followed Iranian threats of retaliation for the U.S. killing last week in Baghdad of Quds Force leader Qasem Soleimani, a hero at home but a terrorist to the United States government.
President Trump, who has vowed a strong by tweeting, see below.
….targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD. The USA wants no more threats!

We killed the most powerful man in Tehran short of the Ayatollah.
This was not an act of revenge for what he had done in the past.
This was a preemptive, defensive strike planned to take out the organizer of attacks yet to come.

The U.S. intelligence assessment revealed Iran had more than 2,000 ballistic missiles.
Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s foreign minister, tweeted, “Iran took & concluded proportionate measures in self-defense under Article 51 of UN Charter targeting base from which cowardly armed attack against our citizens & senior officials were launched. We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression.”
Iran attacked by firing 15 ballistic missiles from inside its borders — at the two bases in Iraq that house American troops, where many of the more than 5,000 American troops in Iraq are stationed, without depending on rockets from Iranian-backed proxies.
