K-pop star Goo Hara was found dead about 18:00 local time (09:00 GMT) on Sunday in her home, according to the Gangnam Police Department.
Goo Hara, real name Goo Ha-ra, was best known as a former member of South Korea’s top K-pop five-part girl group Kara from 2008 to 2015.
“We received a report on November 24, 6.30pm KST about a death,” the Gangnam Police Department released a statement on Sunday, saying, “We are currently investigating the cause.”
Goo Hara Cause Of Death:
Officers say the cause of Goo Hara’s death is still under investigation.
It is reported that Goo Hara attempted to commit suicide in March this year as her an ex-boyfriend blackmailed her threatening of assault and the release a sex video.
In June, the star, shared words against cyberbullying that it was too hard to overcome depression and pleaded for positive comments on social media, a month after K-pop star Goo Hara was found unconscious at her home and hospitalized.
In that month, Hara signed a new deal with leading talent management agency Production Ogi in Japan, where Kara had gained vast attention and Goo also released a solo Japanese single “Midnight Queen” on November 13.
Goo Hara debuted with the five-member Kara in 2008 and her first solo EP, released in 2015, peaked at number four in the Korean music charts.
