MacKenzie Bezos Keeps 25% Of the Jeff Bezos Amazon Stock – Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife author MacKenzie Bezos announced on Twitter on Thursday that she and Jeff Bezos have in the process of finalizing their divorce, leaving her with $35.6 billion in Amazon stock.

MacKenzie Bezos wrote, “Grateful to have finished the process of dissolving my marriage with Jeff with support from each other and everyone who reached out to us in kindness, and looking forward to next phase as co-parents and friends. Happy to be giving him all of my interests in the Washington Post and Blue Origin, and 75% of our Amazon stock plus voting control of my shares to support his continued contributions with the teams of these incredible companies. Excited about my own plans. Grateful for the past as I look forward to what comes next.”
The transfer, which is likely to happen by early July, equates to roughly 19.7 million shares worth about $35.7 billion. With a $35.7-billion fortune, she ranks third behind L’Oréal’s heiress Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, who is worth an estimated $52.9 billion, and Walmart’s Alice Walton, who is worth $45 billion,

Jeff Bezos, 55, and MacKenzie Bezos, 48, met and tied into knot in the early 90s while working at D.E. Shaw, a New York-based hedge fund. After, the couple moved across the country to Seattle, where the Bezos couple launched Amazon. They have four children.
The Amazon CEO still reigns as the richest person on the planet, with a net worth of more than $110 billion whereas Bill Gates is the world’s second-wealthiest individual, boasting an estimated $99.5-billion fortune.
