Matt Damon Reveals His Daughter Alexia Contracted COVID-19 And Has Recovered From The Virus | Matt Damon Daughter Had COVID-19:
On Wednesday, Matt Damon, 49, appeared on Ireland’s Spin 1083’s Fully Charged with Graham & Nathan radio show and opened up about how his family is doing amid the coronavirus pandemic and how the coronavirus has impacted his family.
Matt Damon — who starred in “Contagion,” about a fictional deadly pandemic — has been isolating in the village of Dalkey, for several weeks after travel restrictions took effect while he was there to shoot Ridley Scott film “The Last Duel.”
“I arrived before lockdown. I’m in the middle of a movie, we shot the first half in France and rest in Ireland but the movie was shut down in early March,” the Ford v. Ferrari actor explained of how he ended up in Ireland amid quarantine.
“Our oldest daughter’s in college. Obviously that’s been shut down, but she’s in New York City. She had COVID really early on along with her roommates and got through it fine,” Damon said of eldest daughter Alexia, 21 (Alexia is the daughter of Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso, from a previous relationship). “So I shouldn’t say our whole family’s together. Of our four kids we’ve got the three younger ones and our oldest one, we’ll reunite with her at the end of the month. But everybody’s OK.”

Matt Damon, who has been stuck in Ireland, revealed that Alexia appears to be out of the woods in terms of her battle with COVID-19 and his wife, Luciana with three of their daughters — Stella (Zavala), 9, Gia (Zavala), 11, and Isabella, 13 are currently quarantined.
“Obviously for Luci’s mom and my mom, it’s scary for that generation,” Matt Damon said on Ireland’s Spin 1083’s Fully Charged with Graham & Nathan radio show. “I think we’ve all got the message now. Everybody is doing the isolation and social distancing and hand washing and kind of everything we can to mitigate this but it’s frightening, certainly, for our parents.”
“Dalkey is incredible, it’s one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. We feel guilty that we have this incredible set up in this place. It’s absolutely gorgeous,” he said of Dalkey.
“What’s going on in the world is horrible, but for my family, it timed out. I’m with my whole family, I’ve got my kids, and we had teachers with us because we were planning on missing school for about eight weeks, so we’ve got what nobody else has, which is actual live human beings teaching our kids. All their friends, the schools are all shut down back home and the kids are doing remote learning, so we feel guilty. We’ve got this incredible set up in this place, which is gorgeous,” the actor added.
“Anybody who said you couldn’t predict this, I mean, just look at ‘Contagion.’ Ten years ago we made a movie just talking to experts and asking them how this would look and kind of how this would go down,” said Damon.
