What Happened To Brooke Nevils Described In Ronan Farrow’s Book “Catch And Kill”:
Brooke Nevils alleged that Lauer, who was married at the time, anally intercoursed her in his hotel room while Matt Lauer and Brooke Nevils were both covering the 2014 Sochi Olympics, according to Variety who obtained a copy of Farrow’s book.
According to Variety, Nevils alleged, in Lauer’s hotel room, Lauer pushed her against the door and kissed her and then he pushed Nevils onto the bed, “flipping her over.
According to the book, Nevils told Farrow the encounter was extremely painful and that “she stopped saying no, but wept silently into a pillow.”
Farrow wrote, Brooke Nevils told Lauer yes, when Lauer asked her if she liked it.
Nevils told Farrow. “It was nonconsensual in the sense that I was too drunk to consent” Brooke Nevils claimed that “she bled for days,” Farrow writes.
After returning to New York, Nevils claimed she had more physical encounters with Lauer.
“This is what I blamed myself most for,” Nevils told Farrow. “It was completely transactional. It was not a relationship.”
NBC News chairman Andy Lack said: “Our highest priority is to ensure we have a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected. We are absolutely committed to making this a reality – there can be no exception.”
“Today” said in a statement Wednesday from NBC News, “Matt Lauer’s conduct was appalling, horrific and reprehensible, as we said at the time. That’s why he was fired within 24 hours of us first learning of the complaint. Our hearts break again for our colleague.”
