Miley Cyrus showed off new punkish pixie — the work of none other than her mom, Tish Cyrus, on Instagram Story on Tuesday night.
Disney alum’s mom, Tish Cyrus chopped Miley’s hair into an edgy “pixie mullet” with some help from celeb hairstylist Sally Hershberger over FaceTime.
Sally Hershberger guided Tish through cutting her daughter’s hair on FaceTime.
Celebrity hair stylist Sally Hershberger—the architect of Miley Cyrus‘ original, longer mullet—also shared a photo of the new virtual cut, writing, “I trained Tish well!;)✂️@tishcyrus @mileycyrus #virtualhaircut lol.”

The cut — executed by a dream team comprised of a virtual Sally Hershberger and Miley’s mother — is full of trademark Miley texture, features choppy ends, and has offered the world yet another new take on a much-maligned hairstyle.
The singer “loved the final look as much as I did! It’s so cool and daring to mesh together two styles into one that really expresses her own sense of style,” hair stylist Sally Hershberger told People. “She’s such a great client to work with since she’s so open to trying new looks. We were both really happy with how the haircut turned out and I’m sure her mom will keep tweaking it a bit.”
Several inches shorter front and sides, the longer back, the ’80s vibe, with the sensibility of a pixie cut, which was cultivated after a creative conversation between Miley (currently in Los Angeles) and Hershberger (from the Hamptons).
