Mother Runs SUV Over And Kills Her 3-Year-Old Son During Playing A Game of ‘Chicken’ – According to authorities a Houston mother who was has been charged with criminally negligent homicide, driving a sport utility vehicle over and killed her 3-year-old son in an apparent game of “chicken” struck.

Surveillance video from June 11 shows Lexus Stagg, 26, backing up her 2006 white Lincoln Navigator as her three children chased after it. She then forwarded gear and drove forward, striking the boy and trapping him under the right front tire.
Ms Stagg claimed the killing was an accident, telling authorities she’d believed she’d hit a speed bump while she drove her car in reverse.
“Every parent has an obligation to protect their children, even from themselves,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said in the statement. “Cars aren’t toys, and playing chicken with your kids isn’t a game.”

“You should be playing peek-a-boo with a three-year-old instead of forcing him to try and dodge a 5600-pound deadly weapon,” said Sean Teare, chief of the Harris County District Attorney’s vehicular crimes office.
She was arrested Thursday and appeared in probable cause court Friday morning. Prosecutors requested she be held on $50,000 bail. It was set by the magistrate at $1,500.
“You should be playing Peek-A-Boo with a 3-year-old instead of forcing him to try and dodge a 5,600 pound deadly weapon,” Sean Teare, chief of the district attorney’s vehicular crimes division that is prosecuting the case, said in the statement.
Stagg, who initially told police she thought she hit a speed bump, was arrested Thursday, according to the district attorney. She faces up to 10 years in prison if she is convicted.
