Singer Sam Hunt Is Arrested For Driving Under The Influence In Nashville | Why Did Sam Hunt Get Arrested:
Sam Hunt, 34, was booked into Metro jail on Thursday morning around 6:30 AM local time.
Sam Hunt – best known for the singles Drinkin’ Too Much and Body Like A Back Road was charged for driving under the influence and violation of the open container law after police arrested him in Nashville.
According to an arrest warrant, police noticed Hunt was allegedly driving the wrong way on Ellington Parkway in the early morning hours on Thursday before exiting at Cleveland Street towards Gallatin Avenue.
Metro Nashville police got behind the vehicle, the driver had difficulty staying in the lane of travel and crossed the center divide several times before a stop was initiated.
Why Did Sam Hunt Get Arrested?
According to the warrant, “There were two empty beers in the vehicle next to the driver. The defendant had difficulty retrieving his ID and attempted to give a credit card and passport instead while his TN driver license sat on his lap.”
Cops stopped the vehicle with Sam Hunt — the only person in the vehicle at the time of the stop and the “Body Like a Backroad” singer, who smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes.
Hunt allegedly tested with a blood alcohol level of 0.173, more than twice of the legal limit of 0.08.
Sam Hunt, 34, was released on $2,500 bond.
A four-time Grammy Award nominee, Hunt’s hits include “Body Like a Back Road,” “House Party” and “Take Your Time.”
In January 2017 he became engaged to girlfriend Hannah Lee Fowler, and they married in April of 2017.
Sam Hunt is set to appear in court on January 17, 2020.
