Dan O’Toole, the co-host of “SportsCentre” with Jay and Dan on TSN, said his one-month-old daughter, Oakland, had gone missing in a concerning social media post Thursday evening.
The “SportsCentre” host, 44, said he believed his little girl Oakland was alive and begged for her safe return on Friday (AEST) in a post on Instagram.
The broken father Dan O’Toole wrote on Instagram at around 6 p.m. Thursday evening, alongside a photo of the missing infant, “My baby Oakland. I’m praying that whoever has you, is holding you. That whoever has taken you from me, is protecting you. That however has you, let’s you come back into my arms. I love you Oakland. I can’t wait to one day hold you again. My heart is broken. I am broken.”
The father-of-three continued, “To be clear, Oakland is alive, we think. But we don’t know. I have a one month old child, and I don’t know where she is.”
Dan O’Toole later updated his status, adding that his “amazing” ex-wife Corrie O’Toole had “NOTHING to do with this” and requested that people “leave her alone.”
While O’Toole’s comments on the Instagram post were turned off but on Twitter many were expressing their hope Oakland will be returned to her parents safely.

Global News confirmed with Durham police a few hours after Dan O’Toole’s post that the baby “has been located with her mother and is safe. There are no concerns for child’s safety at this point.”
“I have confirmed with @DRPS that @tsnottole’s baby has been located with her mother and is safe. There are no concerns for child’s safety at this point,” tweeted Travis Dhanraj, Queen’s Park Bureau Chief for Global News.
Dan O’Toole responded to the announcement in a negative fashion, asking why he hadn’t been informed before the journalist.
“Hey Travis. First off, this is not a Durham police matter,” Dan O’Toole wrote on Twitter.
“Secondly, should the police maybe call me first once my child has been found?”
“Hey Dan, your original post prompted a lot of concern. I am glad your daughter is safe,” Dhanraj responded.
Dan O’Toole, who hosts the show SC with Jay and Dan on Canada’s The Sports Network (TSN), announced Oakland’s birth on May 26.
The proud dad first introduced his baby daughter to the world in an Instagram post on May 26, sharing that “When you self isolate long enough, you get one of these as a door prize!!”
“Meet Oakland Eleanor Sandra Newman-O’Toole. My brand new lil girl who has a million names, and all of my heart.
“In case it was ever in doubt, now officially NEVER forgetting 2020,” he added alongside a snap of the newborn.
Dan O’Toole also has two other daughters.
Though it remains if his ex-wife is also the mother of his young child and how and why the little baby was separated from her family.
