Zion Williamson Injury – On Wednesday’s Night match the nation’s most exciting player, Zion Williamson suffered from a knee injury, he would leave the game less than a minute in.

Duke superstar freshman Zion Williamson’s Nike sneaker burst open when he planted his foot at the start in the No. 1 Blue Devils’ game against the rival North Carolina Tar Heels. The former shoe – a Nike PG 2.5 PE mishap sent the forward tumbling to the floor and resulted in Zion Williamson’s knee injury. He immediately fell down due to wrong move at his legs causes knee injury, and shortly after went to the locker room. Duke then announced that he was shut down for the game due to the knee injury.
“I was right there and I didn’t really see what happened,” Duke freshman Tre Jones said, “I just thought he’d twisted his ankle or his knee. But when he took his shoes off, I thought maybe something else was going on.”
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski addressed this “mild knee sprain.” Coach also added, “We don’t know how long he’ll be out,”.
“You go in with your game plan, get into the game, and then 36 seconds in, one of your key guys goes out,” Duke freshman R.J. Barrett said. “It was tough for us to bounce back from that, and North Carolina really punched us the whole way through” and also added, “We’re very concerned about Zion, We will know about length of time tomorrow. It’s stable. Obviously it has an impact. You lose the National Player of the Year on the first play.”
Darren Rovell tweeted, “That the shoe blew out on National TV. That the shoe blew out for Duke-UNC. That the shoe blew out on Zion Williamson. Awful look for Nike”.
Cam Reddish said, “It was just a shock for us. Obviously, we’re used to playing with him, so playing without him was very difficult. We missed him today.”
The result of Zion Williamson’s knee injury Cameron Johnson and Luke Maye carry the Tar Heels as No. 8 North Carolina defeats No. 1 Duke 88-72 on Wednesday night.
